Bauer X800 is a stick in the next generation of Bauer’s Vapor line made ideal for crafty players. Continuing the focus on puck handling and quick release shots, the X800 is revamped with improved QRT technology which features an aggressive taper that gives this stick a low kick profile and has also been completely optimized with a new layup design. The result ends with an X800 hockey stick that has been made lighter, faster, and stronger than its predecessor Bauer’s research showed that reorienting the layers of carbon fiber would pay huge dividends in the progression of not only QRT tech but also the entire Vapor line as a whole. By doing this, the stick was made lighter by trimming off a little bit of weight, made faster by giving the shooter the ability to achieve maximum levels of deformation or easier stick loading, and made 30% more durable in the taper area. With all these improvements working together this X800 provides a quicker overall release! To make up the shaft construction, a combination of visible premium lightweight 3k woven carbon fiber as well as fiberglass in the shaft of the Vapor X800, making the stick feel comparable to offerings twice its price. The X800 also uses a traditional, proven, fused construction. The Micro Feel II shaft profile has rounded corners and double-concave walls which allow the shaft to fit comfortably into your hands, resulting in easier puck handling and superior control The blade of the X800 features Bauer’s AERO FOAM 3, a lightweight dual density foam that helps to dampen vibration and improve the durability of the blade. This is wrapped in a special BiMax 3K weave which has a higher tensile strength than a conventional 3K weave. Additionally, this entire Vapor line includes Bauer's Pure Shot Blade Profile which is that visible expanded throat design that reduces the amount of blade deflection or the twisting / opening of the blade while shooting. CCM's RBZ 280 Composite Stick offers most of their elite features found in the flagship Speedburner, while coming in at a more affordable price point. Their partnership with Taylor Made is once again the driving factor behind the RBZ's performance, with a redesigned hosel technology taking center stage this year. Their "Power Hosel Technology" is a redesign of the lower portion of the RBZ shaft, adding an internal rib and building it to be inserted into the blade. By inserting the shaft into the blade hosel, the energy transfer of the stick becomes much more efficient. This means that when you flex the shaft while shooting, energy travels through the stick and to the puck quicker with less energy lost. The result is a more powerful shot with a faster release in comparison to previous RBZ models. Further inspiration from Taylor Made can be found in the construction and weight distribution of the RBZ line's shaft in their "Very Low Swing Weight" Technology. This influences how light or balanced the stick feels and helps shooters to maximize the speed of their swing on slapshots. This component couples nicely with the stick's constant flex profile, empowering players utilize a variety of different shooting styles. Finally, the RBZ’s unique blade construction has always been a stable of the line. The goal as always has been to maximize the blade’s “Coefficient of Restitution” (C.O.R) or trampoline effect, to make the puck ‘jump’ off the blade on shots. Bauer's Supreme stick line has been engineered to boost energy output making it ideal for the player that is primarily looking for strength and power in their shot. The mid-kick flex profile is softer in the middle, which makes it easier to load in that zone. The Supreme power dual taper makes for a stiffer bottom portion of the shaft which in conjunction with the Pure Shot Blade profile, an expanded throat design as you transition from shaft to blade, provides torsional stiffness in such a way that reduces the likelihood of twisting and torquing of the blade. Strength and power meet precision and control in the Bauer Supreme 190 stick. Unlike the higher end Supreme MX3, which is a true one-piece stick, the Supreme 190 uses a more traditional fused construction. In the shaft of the stick, you will find that Bauer has used a premium lightweight 12k woven carbon fiber. 12k carbon is even better at managing stress than 3k woven carbon fiber, which has been used in high end composite sticks for years. The Supreme line of sticks have a square shaft shape with double-concave walls which is preferred among pros. Enhancing the nice secure grip provided from the shape is the MX3 Tac-Spiral ridges on the underside of the shaft. The 190 is only available in the senior model but has two finishes to choose from: matte or Griptac. The blade core construction of the Supreme 190 is quite similar to that of the MX3. It uses Power Sense 2 - a combination of Power Sense core, Aero Foam 3 and SENSE material along the bottom edge of the blade. This blade construction reduces overall blade weight while improving overall stick balance and increasing blade durability where you need it most. The inclusion of SENSE material in this stick is a nice upgrade, considering that it is only found in Bauer's highest models in the MX3, Nexus 8000 and Vapor APX2. In addition to added blade durability, SENSE material is excellent at absorbing energy which translates to improved feel. The outermost wrap of the blade is the same 12k woven carbon fiber that is used in the shaft plus you will also find a bit of texture to the outer coating of the blade - an elite-level feature that provides improved puck feel with pass reception. The Bauer Supreme 190 is a very high performance stick with several features and construction that can also be found in the flagship MX3 stick.
