Continuing on one of the most anticipated new lines in goaltending in the recent years, Bauer has brought one of the most engineered and technologically advanced lines of gear to the goalie market. The Vapor X700 skate is packed with new features which strive to change the face of goaltending. With the success of the “cowlingless” goalie skate, the Vapor X700 skate is designed to increase the attack angle of goalies moving while in the butterfly position as well as recoveries and movements around the crease. The outer cowling has been removed and a “traditional” looking player holder has been added to the boot. The boot and the toe cap have been stiffened and reinforced to protect against any shots on the toe. Included in the new Vertexx Edge Holder is the 3mm LS1G steel specifically designed for the anatomical position the goalie will be in. This steel is removed via the Edge Trigger system found under the heel and gives goalie the opportunity to change their steel on the fly. The Vapor X700 boot has more volume in the width and ankle, when compared to the Supreme counterpart. This means that the eyelets are moved forward so there can be more wrap and tightness in the ankle area. The boot has a fully symmetrical design where the inside and outside edge of the boot is the same height to give the goalie more support running up the inside and outside of the leg. New for the 2018 season is the CCM JetSpeed Grip Senior Hockey Stick! This stick looks to bridge the gap between having a deadly quick shot release while maintaining maximum shot speed, giving you the ability to score from anywhere in the offensive zone! One of the new key features of the JetSpeed stick is the shaft geometry. This stick still features the classic rounded corners and double concave sidewalls, but for this iteration, CCM incorporated double convex sidewalls at the top and bottom of the shaft. This updated design fits better in your hand, which in turn, leads to superior control of the puck. Moving to the construction itself, the CCM JetSpeed Stick features Sigmatex carbon fiber. Thanks to the high-tension weaving process of this material, not only is it lightweight, but very durable as well. Another new feature of the CCM JetSpeed Stick is CCM’s new hybrid kick-point. Right below the bottom hand, the stick has a soft flex point, immediately followed up by a stiffer “bump” flex point. This is followed by another soft flex point at the bottom third of the shaft. This stiffness “bump” between the two softer flex points creates a hinge-like effect creating greater power and control on your shots. Coming off the successful RBZ line, the QuickLite is the pro model in the latest shoulder pad line from CCM, bringing with it exciting new technology in the same low profile package it’s become famous for. These shoulder pads are all about mobility which is of course promoted by the incredibly lightweight foams used and construction design of the pad itself. The construction of the QLT comes from DryFoam Technology which is a closed cell foam that absorbs less sweat to allow the shoulder pads to remain lightweight and comfortable throughout the game. The combination of VentShield and the premier Zotefoam base are the key components in making these pads not only very protective but also contributes to the pads lightweight. VentShield is the hard perforated plastic found protecting vital organs, while the premier Zotefoam composes the rest of the front and back jackets. The shoulder caps feature a low profile design made with Ufoam construction (EPP/EVA coverage). This keeps the pad light all while offering up pro level protection. Additionally, HD Foam clavicle coverage further adds to that pro level protection as it covers the collar bones. To keep the QLT secured to your body, elastic straps are used everywhere to keep that naturally contoured fit. A nice finishing touch that CCM added is a soft comfort foam pad found on both the front and back of the neck to really promote the level of comfort of these shoulder pads. The vastly popular vapor line will offer a tapered fit which is wider in the cuff with a more standard fit through the fingers. The flared out free flex cuff provides excellent wrist mobility while the standard fit through the fingers helps improve overall control.
