True’s next generation of X-Series hockey sticks comes in the 2017 ACF line. This type of stick will fall under the precision shooter’s category thanks to patented XCORE technology and complimenting features showcased in the XC5 ACF. For those who are curious the A–C-and F means Accuracy, Control, and Feel. This stick was designed to allow you to seek pinpoint accuracy while maximizing shot velocity, puck control, and puck feel. Here’s the inside scoop into TRUE’s XC5 ACF. Getting right into the stick’s construction, TRUE continued to utilize a high pressure clave molding process which they patented as Axenic Technology. The advantage of using this manufacturing process is that it yields a true one-piece hockey stick which results in very consistent internal walls, shaft shape, and of course a great balance and feel. Working alongside the Axenic Technology, SmartPly Technology optimizes performance, weight, and impact strength. SmartPly tech is a laminate design that is used with up to 25 inner layers of unidirectional carbon fiber; the way the fibers are angled and the order of those angles are what control torsional stiffness and protect from impact damage while maximizing performance and durability. All very impressive technology featured at this price point! The XC5 ACF is composed mainly of a carbon fiber and fiber glass blend which is organized into a 3K weave. This stick has a graduated mid-flex profile for optimal performance and feel in all game situations. Moving down to the blade, we’re going to see the patented XCORE technology. This is a compressible urethane insert embedded into the core of the blade starting in the heel and extending just past the center. This technology will produce an average of 30% more rotational puck spin leading to less flutter shots and more precise and accurate shots. XCORE technology also dampens and cradles the puck during passing and puck handling providing even more control and feel. This is the huge component to what gives the XC5 ACF its accuracy, control and feel. New to the XSERIES of sticks is going to be Braided Rib Technology (BRT) first seen in TRUE’s SBP lineup. These are seamless braided tubes located at the center and bottom of the blade that act as a dual bridge support for the blade core. This tech helps to produce the longest lasting and most consistent blade TRUE has ever made and is up to 50% stronger than its predecessor! Benefits of this modified BRT blade prevent the foam core from breaking down and losing its stiffness which will also help provide its accuracy and precision. Think you know Reactor sticks? Think again. For 2015, the entire Reactor line of sticks has been revamped to offer goalies with even more options while choosing their companion of choice. The composite construction of the previous Reactor line has been replaced with a more traditional and reliable foam core construction that goalies of all skill levels will love. The paddle of the Reactor 9000 is constructed of a high density urethane core combined with 10 carbon strips running the length of the paddle to add stiffness and reduce breakage. This layup is manufactured in a traditional, symmetrical paddle geometry for goalies who prefer a classic feel and performance. It wouldn’t be a Bauer stick without the latest and greatest technology. In the 9000, the designers have included a Carbon Triaxial Braid carbon weave to reinforce the blade, again adding stiffness and reducing breakage in the high impact areas. An additional reinforced shooter strip along the length of the blade prevents blade flex, allowing for more consistent deflections and puck handling. The shaft is constructed of an aspen core, reinforced with carbons strips for both reinforcement and improving shaft stiffness. Note that the New Reactor line of sticks has changed its paddle measurement system. A Reactor 9000 paddle length of 25” will equate to a Supreme paddle measurement of 26.5”. Les mer

Bauer maintains its focus on puck handling and quick release in the next second generation Vapor X600 stick. The X600 stick is an entry level stick that features a slight, gradual taper that gives a low kick profile, which provides surprisingly quick shot releases The shaft of the X600 is comprised of uni-directional fibers and features a traditional, proven, fused construction. The Micro Feel II shaft profile has rounded corners and double-concave walls which allow the shaft to fit comfortably into your hands, resulting in easier puck handling and superior control The X600 features a PU (Polyurethane) blade core that is wrapped in a visible Carbon Basket Weave with premium carbon composite (the same kind you would find on a high end bike frame). The Nexus lineup from Bauer is all about allowing you to set your sights and hit your target every time. As Bauer’s TRU mid-kick flex profile this Nexus model has become one of the most sought after sticks amongst NHL players. The Nexus family features Sweet Spot Technology, an enlarged mid kick zone that Bauer has re-engineered to allow for more efficient loading and energy transfer in your shot. The stick reacts to the position of your bottom hand to help you hit your target on a more consistent basis. Unlike the Nexus 1N, a true one-piece stick, the Nexus N9000 uses a more traditional fused construction. Bauer uses premium lightweight 12K woven carbon fiber throughout the shaft because it is much better at managing stress than 3K carbon fiber. The square shaft shape with double-concave walls is preferred among pros, and provides a nice secure grip no matter what shot you are taking. The Nexus N9000 is only available in the senior model but offers two finishes, a nice matte finish or with the Griptac finish. Moving further down the stick, you will find the Nexus Power Taper. Sometimes referred to as the .520 power taper, this means a little more thickness in the hosel of the taper to boost torsional stiffness in order to allow you to maximize the load. Bauer's expanded throat of the Pure Shot Blade Profile also means less torquing and twisting, thus improving accuracy and blade control. The blade of the Nexus N9000 stick features the Aero Sense Core 2. This is a lightweight combination of dual density Aero Foam 3 core and an evolved SENSE layer that work together to dampen vibration and improve durability. The blade wrap features the same 12K carbon fiber that is used in the shaft and is finished with a light texture to the outer coating.
