This is a compressible urethane insert embedded into the core of the blade starting in the heel and extending just past the center. This technology will produce an average of 30% more rotational puck spin leading to less flutter shots and more precise and accurate shots. XCORE technology also dampens and cradles the puck during passing and puck handling providing even more control and feel. The Nexus lineup from Bauer is all about allowing you to set your sights and hit your target every time. As Bauer’s TRU mid-kick flex profile this Nexus model has become one of the most sought after sticks amongst NHL players. The Nexus family features Sweet Spot Technology, an enlarged mid kick zone that Bauer has re-engineered to allow for more efficient loading and energy transfer in your shot. The stick reacts to the position of your bottom hand to help you hit your target on a more consistent basis. Unlike the Nexus 1N, a true one-piece stick, the Nexus N9000 uses a more traditional fused construction. Bauer uses premium lightweight 12K woven carbon fiber throughout the shaft because it is much better at managing stress than 3K carbon fiber. The square shaft shape with double-concave walls is preferred among pros, and provides a nice secure grip no matter what shot you are taking. The Nexus N9000 is only available in the senior model but offers two finishes, a nice matte finish or with the Griptac finish. Moving further down the stick, you will find the Nexus Power Taper. Sometimes referred to as the .520 power taper, this means a little more thickness in the hosel of the taper to boost torsional stiffness in order to allow you to maximize the load. Bauer's expanded throat of the Pure Shot Blade Profile also means less torquing and twisting, thus improving accuracy and blade control. The blade of the Nexus N9000 stick features the Aero Sense Core 2. This is a lightweight combination of dual density Aero Foam 3 core and an evolved SENSE layer that work together to dampen vibration and improve durability. The blade wrap features the same 12K carbon fiber that is used in the shaft and is finished with a light texture to the outer coating. The CCM Ribcor 49K was designed for elite players looking for performance at a fraction of the cost. Ribcor has always been about generating efficient loading to achieve a quick releasing shot in a low-kick package and the 49K does just that with PopMatrix Technology while still providing excellent control and accuracy from the Ascent Blade. The 49K features PopMatrix technology, a nice carry over technology seen in the Ribcor Trigger as well as last year’s Reckoner. PopMatrix is a unique visual technology that consists of carbon fibers which are permanently in tension due to the unique concave geometry through the taper of the shaft. The idea of this is to get easy loading, more efficient energy transfer and a faster snap back as quickly as possible. CCM has been able to come up with quantifiable measurements to show that the 49K has the highest release rate from a CCM stick at its price point. The performance fibers that are found in the rib are also protected by an outer layer composed of protective fibers to put durability issues to rest. This all translates into less effort required to load the fibers of the shaft, which results in a load, release, and feel unlike any other on the market. As far a construction goes, the 49K is composed with a fuse construction made with a high quality carbon fiber throughout the entirety of the stick. The orientation of the fibers creates the 3:1 High Power Taper Ratio, which means that it has a stiffer top and bottom in relation to the front and back of the shaft. This results in less twisting on shots and more direct power transfer. Moving down to the blade, the 49K comes equipped with Ascent Blade. As CCM’s dangler stick, they really wanted to promote that great feel any puck handler would desire, so to achieve this the Ascent Blade is composed of a premium foam that provides an incredibly soft feel. And although it’s meant to provide great feel, the fact that the blade increases in stiffness from heel to toe provides hard, accurate and quick releasing shots off the toe. The Vapor family of skates continues to be the most popular family within Bauer's 3-fit platform. Although still considered a Vapor skate, the X200 goes a little outside of the typical “Vapor” fit.
