The revolution continues with the Bauer Vapor APX LE Composite Stick. With new LE graphics featured throughout the stick, the APX's look has transformed yet again. From a new blade core that offers more feel with less weight, to a flex profile that changes based on what type of shot you're taking, the Bauer Vapor APX Composite Stick has been tuned to perform. The main improvement in the Vapor APX LE Stick is the introduction of Bauer's newest blade technology, a technology so unique it was granted a patent by both US and Canadian governments. Through extensive testing, Bauer combined the soft feel of their Power Core 3 technology, found on the Supreme line of composites, with the weight-saving blade features found in the Vapor line. The result is a dual-density blade core that offers a perfect balance of feather-weight status while offering true puck feel. Additional blade features include super-strong TeXtreme composite construction along with an increased connection point at the blade-shaft transition, which reduces the twisting of the blade while shooting or passing and thus improves control and accuracy. Although the connection point between blade and shaft is enlarged, the overall material at the joint is reduced via Bauer's Monocomp Technology---a single molding process that ensures true one-piece shaft/blade construction and also reduces weight by eliminating excess material found at the transition. The combination of composite material, reinforced blade profile, and weight-saving balance provide excellent accuracy and power. Other advancements include Bauer's Intelli-Sense shot technology, which utilizes dual flex-zones on the shaft that flex differently based on hand position. This offers a quick release on wrist shots as well as a powerful flex on slap shots. Rounded shaft edges with double-concave walls provide hand comfort and stability while a the Vapor Premium Dual Taper improves accuracy by focusing energy lower in the shaft and decreases torsional deflection. The Supreme series of sticks from Bauer is all about strength and power. The mid-kick flex profile and the Supreme power taper are attributes that are found throughout the line and are engineered to boost energy output. The One.6 replaces the One60 with the addition of better performance materials in the blade. Premium carbon fiber and fiberglass construction is used in the main composition of the shaft. The square shaft shape with double-concave walls helps you secure a good grip of your stick and is the geometry that is preferred among pros. The One.6 is only available with the matte finish. The stick has the Supreme power taper, which means a little more thickness in the hosel of the taper which is typical of a mid flex stick and allows you to maximize the load. This taper in conjunction with the expanded throat of the Pure Shot Blade Profile means less torqueing and twisting, thus improving accuracy and blade control. Bauer uses its patented Aero Foam II inside the blade of the Supreme One.6. It is stiff and lightweight and provides nice balance and feel to the stick. Bauer's Supreme stick line has been engineered to boost energy output making it ideal for the player that is primarily looking for strength and power in their shot. The mid-kick flex profile is softer in the middle, which makes it easier to load in that zone. The Supreme power dual taper makes for a stiffer bottom portion of the shaft which in conjunction with the Pure Shot Blade profile, an expanded throat design as you transition from shaft to blade, provides torsional stiffness in such a way that reduces the likelihood of twisting and torquing of the blade. Strength and power meet precision and control in the Bauer Supreme 190 stick. Unlike the higher end Supreme MX3, which is a true one-piece stick, the Supreme 190 uses a more traditional fused construction. In the shaft of the stick, you will find that Bauer has used a premium lightweight 12k woven carbon fiber. 12k carbon is even better at managing stress than 3k woven carbon fiber, which has been used in high end composite sticks for years. The Supreme line of sticks have a square shaft shape with double-concave walls which is preferred among pros. Enhancing the nice secure grip provided from the shape is the MX3 Tac-Spiral ridges on the underside of the shaft. The 190 is only available in the senior model but has two finishes to choose from: matte or Griptac. The blade core construction of the Supreme 190 is quite similar to that of the MX3. It uses Power Sense 2 - a combination of Power Sense core, Aero Foam 3 and SENSE material along the bottom edge of the blade. This blade construction reduces overall blade weight while improving overall stick balance and increasing blade durability where you need it most. The inclusion of SENSE material in this stick is a nice upgrade, considering that it is only found in Bauer's highest models in the MX3, Nexus 8000 and Vapor APX2. In addition to added blade durability, SENSE material is excellent at absorbing energy which translates to improved feel. The outermost wrap of the blade is the same 12k woven carbon fiber that is used in the shaft plus you will also find a bit of texture to the outer coating of the blade - an elite-level feature that provides improved puck feel with pass reception. The Bauer Supreme 190 is a very high performance stick with several features and construction that can also be found in the flagship MX3 stick. Given its performance attributes and enhancements in durability, this is an elite-level stick with excellent value. Definitely worth a look. Les mer
