New for 2017, CCM has re-engineered their Extreme Flex line and has released the brand new Extreme Flex III E3.5 Goalie Blocker. The Extreme Flex III blocker has a brand new style of finger protection aimed to further protect the inside of the hand and give the goalie the confidence they need when gripping their stick. Building on the already classic and popular feel of the EF2 blocker, the EF3 offers the best combination of feel and protection. The EF3 blocker has a thick HD board directly over the back of the hand which allows for pucks to redirect to the corner or glass with force. The new curved sidewall protection is engineered to give maximum coverage on the stick and index finger to prevent any pucks from riding up the paddle into the finger, while still creating maximum movement and mobility to put the stick and blocker into the right position. Perfect for kids to handle themselves or for you who have to put away the goal after each exercise. The goal is made of lacquered steel pipes with a diameter of 2.3 cm. Just un-box and start playing! The goal cage are firmly on four feet, all of which are fitted with a plastic feet that protects the floor and keeps the goal steady. The net is stuck in special fastening lugs that are welded to the frame. The collapsing mechanism is in the form of a spring. You simply press the cage lightly and then fold the sides together. Continuing on one of the most anticipated new lines in goaltending in the recent years, Bauer has brought one of the most engineered and technologically advanced lines of gear to the goalie market. The Vapor X700 skate is packed with new features which strive to change the face of goaltending. With the success of the “cowlingless” goalie skate, the Vapor X700 skate is designed to increase the attack angle of goalies moving while in the butterfly position as well as recoveries and movements around the crease. The outer cowling has been removed and a “traditional” looking player holder has been added to the boot. The boot and the toe cap have been stiffened and reinforced to protect against any shots on the toe. Included in the new Vertexx Edge Holder is the 3mm LS1G steel specifically designed for the anatomical position the goalie will be in. This steel is removed via the Edge Trigger system found under the heel and gives goalie the opportunity to change their steel on the fly. The Vapor X700 boot has more volume in the width and ankle, when compared to the Supreme counterpart. This means that the eyelets are moved forward so there can be more wrap and tightness in the ankle area. The boot has a fully symmetrical design where the inside and outside edge of the boot is the same height to give the goalie more support running up the inside and outside of the leg. The 1X has the feel and puck dampening that many love about foam core sticks, but with the weight and durability of a composite stick. Bauer uses INNEGRA fiber, woven with carbon reinforcement to provide maximum durability, and the core of the paddle features Balsa wood to increase dampening properties and dramatically reduce the weight. The paddle is also contoured to have a flat face and rounded back, giving goalies optimal balance in their stances and improved feel while puck handling. The blade of the 1X employs Bauer’s AERO FOAM 3 blade core, which balances the weight of the stick and creates a more consistent feel of the puck. INNEGRA fiber extends to wrap the outside of the blade as well, increasing durability in the highest-traffic area of the stick. The composite shaft is complete with a GripTac shoulder and double-concave walls, giving goalies a more secure hand placement in stance and increasing maneuverability on the handle respectively.
