The RIBCOR series, now proudly boasting the CCM name, is all about having a stick that is easier to load and more efficient at generating power for your shot. The quick release of the stick comes from the low-mid kick point, while still providing excellent control and accuracy from the stiffness of CCM’s new SXX2 blade. Predominantly subdued black and grays with neon green accents give the new Ribcor 40K just the right amount of visual flash. CCM uses high modulus carbon fiber for this stick. The orientation of these fibers creates the High Power Taper Ratio, which means that it has a stiffer top and bottom in relation to the front and back of the shaft, resulting in less twisting on shots and more direct power transfer. The senior shaft uses a Traditional geometry with square-corners, while the intermediate and junior uses a more contoured geometry with rounded corners for a better fit in smaller hands. CCM’s Ribcor technology consists of carbon fibers which are permanently in tension due to the unique (and visible) RIB geometry through the taper of the shaft. This means that less effort is required to load the fibers of the shaft because they are already part way there. The preloaded Fibers result in a load, release, and feel unlike any other on the market. Simply put, this stick wants to shoot! It’s no wonder the Ribcor is the preferred weapon of choice by NHL pros such as Matt Duchene and John Tavares. Perhaps the biggest addition to this year’s Ribcor offering is the Technora Aramid Fiber reinforced shaft. Technora is a patented, synthetic fiber that has been trusted and used in the automotive and aerospace industries for years. The same material used in parachutes, body armor, and jet engines now reinforces the shaft of the new CCM Ribcor 40K, resulting in a new level of durability and ensuring the pop of the new 40K lasts game in and game out! The SXX2 blade is designed to go from stiff in the heel to extra stiff at the toe. Internal reinforcements run along the length of the blade acting as bridges to provide a stiff feel throughout that gain even more rigidity at the toe. CCM has gone a step further by angling these reinforcements upward at the toe for an even stiffer toe than before, which helps keep the blade square to the target. The blade also features what Reebok likes to refer to as their Tri Matrix construction. This is also where the orientation of the fibers comes in to play. The 45° orientation stores and releases energy, while the 0° and 90° orientation adds strength and stability - blade technology that's designed to enhance performance and accuracy of your powerful shot.
