New for 2017, CCM has re-engineered their Extreme Flex line and has released the brand new Extreme Flex III E3.5 Goalie Blocker. The Extreme Flex III blocker has a brand new style of finger protection aimed to further protect the inside of the hand and give the goalie the confidence they need when gripping their stick. Building on the already classic and popular feel of the EF2 blocker, the EF3 offers the best combination of feel and protection. The EF3 blocker has a thick HD board directly over the back of the hand which allows for pucks to redirect to the corner or glass with force. Continuing on one of the most anticipated new lines in goaltending in the recent years, Bauer has brought one of the most engineered and technologically advanced lines of gear to the goalie market. The Vapor X700 skate is packed with new features which strive to change the face of goaltending. With the success of the “cowlingless” goalie skate, the Vapor X700 skate is designed to increase the attack angle of goalies moving while in the butterfly position as well as recoveries and movements around the crease. The outer cowling has been removed and a “traditional” looking player holder has been added to the boot. The boot and the toe cap have been stiffened and reinforced to protect against any shots on the toe. Included in the new Vertexx Edge Holder is the 3mm LS1G steel specifically designed for the anatomical position the goalie will be in. This steel is removed via the Edge Trigger system found under the heel and gives goalie the opportunity to change their steel on the fly. The Vapor X700 boot has more volume in the width and ankle, when compared to the Supreme counterpart. This means that the eyelets are moved forward so there can be more wrap and tightness in the ankle area. The boot has a fully symmetrical design where the inside and outside edge of the boot is the same height to give the goalie more support running up the inside and outside of the leg. The Bauer Vapor 1X Goalie Knee Guards are not only lighter than ever before but they are also more protective and comfortable too. The bulk of the protection comes from the Curv composite knee cap and the new AeroLite foam reinforcement. AeroLite is one the lightest foams Bauer has to offer but its other unique feature is that it doesn't absorb water like traditional foams. This keeps goalies from carrying around excessive water logged weight and it keeps the body dry all game long too. The new Transfer Mesh and 37.5 Liner play a big role in moisture management as well. New for 2016, the Legendary Leferve design team brings you the reengineered CCM line of equipment. The Extreme Flex Shield Pants features a brand new style and visual look to their already popular pants. The base of the Extreme Flex Pant is built around bringing the goaltender unrestricted movement while still providing the largest blocking surface allowed. Continuing the trend of extreme mobility, the Extreme Flex Shield Goalie Pant is designed to give the goalie a contoured fit while still giving maximum protection. The pants are redesigned to sit more snug in the waist and throughout the legs. The thigh of the pant is tapered towards the bottom and but still gives a large visual look. The taper on the legs allows the pants to channel into the butterfly position against the pads and will not let the thigh get stuck on the outer edge of the pad. On the inside and outside of the legs, there is removable padding that allows the goalies to customize their fit and shape depending on the knee pads the goalie uses. The CCM 1.9 Senior Goal mask is an NHL inspired shell which includes improvements to increase vision, in the liner and with a lighter shell. The Bauer Supreme S29 goalie pants are a performance level protective goalie pant that feature some key upgrades over the previous generation’s model. The key upgrade for the S29 goalie pants is the inclusion of PORON® hip floaters. The PORON® foam is designed to help withstand and minimize impacts to keep you protected and comfortable on the ice. When it comes to fit and adjustment on the S29 goalie pants, Bauer has built the Supreme line to have an anatomical fit in the waist and too include a new inner belt system for secure waist adjustment. These goalie pants also have an extension fit system to add 1” of length as well as a pelvic vent hole for those goalies who want to integrate that chest protector. The composite construction of the previous Reactor line has been replaced with a more traditional and reliable foam core construction that goalies of all skill levels will love. The paddle of the Reactor 9000 is constructed of a high density urethane core combined with 10 carbon strips running the length of the paddle to add stiffness and reduce breakage. This layup is manufactured in a traditional, symmetrical paddle geometry for goalies who prefer a classic feel and performance. It wouldn’t be a Bauer stick without the latest and greatest technology. In the 9000, the designers have included a Carbon Triaxial Braid carbon weave to reinforce the blade, again adding stiffness and reducing breakage in the high impact areas.
