New for 2017, CCM has re-engineered their Extreme Flex line and has released the brand new Extreme Flex III E3.5 Goalie Blocker. The Extreme Flex III blocker has a brand new style of finger protection aimed to further protect the inside of the hand and give the goalie the confidence they need when gripping their stick. Building on the already classic and popular feel of the EF2 blocker, the EF3 offers the best combination of feel and protection. The EF3 blocker has a thick HD board directly over the back of the hand which allows for pucks to redirect to the corner or glass with force. The new curved sidewall protection is engineered to give maximum coverage on the stick and index finger to prevent any pucks from riding up the paddle into the finger, while still creating maximum movement and mobility to put the stick and blocker into the right position. The Reebok Premier 24k Goalie Stick is constructed with a lightweight OPS. This feature keeps the stick light and provides an inner weave that helps reduce vibrations to better control rebounds. The stiffness profile of the stick is the same one that the vast majority of the NHL goaltenders prefer, which is a traditional feel that helps control rebounds and make passes more effectively. Reebok's Accublade technology allows goaltenders to better control their passes because of the additional stability and stiffness throughout the blade. The Extreme Flex Shield Pants features a brand new style and visual look to their already popular pants. The base of the Extreme Flex Pant is built around bringing the goaltender unrestricted movement while still providing the largest blocking surface allowed. Continuing the trend of extreme mobility, the Extreme Flex Shield Goalie Pant is designed to give the goalie a contoured fit while still giving maximum protection. The pants are redesigned to sit more snug in the waist and throughout the legs. The thigh of the pant is tapered towards the bottom and but still gives a large visual look. The taper on the legs allows the pants to channel into the butterfly position against the pads and will not let the thigh get stuck on the outer edge of the pad. On the inside and outside of the legs, there is removable padding that allows the goalies to customize their fit and shape depending on the knee pads the goalie uses. The top of the pant features a taller waist with extra pieces for more articulation. Combined with the reshaped tailbone protection, the pant fits higher at the front but lower at the back for more breathability and motion. The protection on the thighs of the pants has High Density and Polyethylene foams to help deaden rebounds and keep pucks in tight for goalies to get quicker whistles. Brand new for 2017, CCM continues to take the goalie mask category by storm by revamping and improving on their previous designs. The CCM 1.9 Senior Goal mask is an NHL inspired shell which includes improvements to increase vision, in the liner and with a lighter shell. The shell of the mask is constructed of a fiberglass base to provide a stiff shell, while staying incredibly light. Inside the shell, there is a Triple Density VN liner coupled with I.Q.Shion foam in strategic reinforcements to provide the most comfortable foam system giving the goalie the best comfort and protection. The Bauer Supreme S29 goalie pants are a performance level protective goalie pant that feature some key upgrades over the previous generation’s model. The key upgrade for the S29 goalie pants is the inclusion of PORON® hip floaters. The PORON® foam is designed to help withstand and minimize impacts to keep you protected and comfortable on the ice. When it comes to fit and adjustment on the S29 goalie pants, Bauer has built the Supreme line to have an anatomical fit in the waist and too include a new inner belt system for secure waist adjustment. These goalie pants also have an extension fit system to add 1” of length as well as a pelvic vent hole for those goalies who want to integrate that chest protector. For the protection features on the Supreme S29 goalie pants we will see that the thighs offer elite level protection with NHL legal sizing. The spine is molded to create a more comfortable and complete fit. As we mentioned before, Bauer included PORON® hip floaters for added protection in this vulnerable area. Think you know Reactor sticks? Think again. For 2015, the entire Reactor line of sticks has been revamped to offer goalies with even more options while choosing their companion of choice. The composite construction of the previous Reactor line has been replaced with a more traditional and reliable foam core construction that goalies of all skill levels will love. Goalies may recognize the 7000 stick as the same construction as the Bauer 7500 that was ever so popular at the professional and collegiate level. For years, professional players had been requesting the 7500 stick, preferring its good balance and exceptional durability over pricier composites.
