The Vapor line by Bauer is designed to be lightweight, foster mobility, and enhance performance. The goalie sticks are no exception to this ideology. New for 2017, the 1X uses new technology and expert craftsmanship to provide goalies with a one-of-a-kind experience. The 1X has the feel and puck dampening that many love about foam core sticks, but with the weight and durability of a composite stick. Bauer uses INNEGRA fiber, woven with carbon reinforcement to provide maximum durability, and the core of the paddle features Balsa wood to increase dampening properties and dramatically reduce the weight. The paddle is also contoured to have a flat face and rounded back, giving goalies optimal balance in their stances and improved feel while puck handling. The blade of the 1X employs Bauer’s AERO FOAM 3 blade core, which balances the weight of the stick and creates a more consistent feel of the puck. INNEGRA fiber extends to wrap the outside of the blade as well, increasing durability in the highest-traffic area of the stick. Brand new for 2017, CCM continues to take the goalie mask category by storm by revamping and improving on their previous designs. The CCM 1.9 Senior Goal mask is an NHL inspired shell which includes improvements to increase vision, in the liner and with a lighter shell. The shell of the mask is constructed of a fiberglass base to provide a stiff shell, while staying incredibly light. The composite construction of the previous Reactor line has been replaced with a more traditional and reliable foam core construction that goalies of all skill levels will love. The paddle of the Reactor 9000 is constructed of a high density urethane core combined with 10 carbon strips running the length of the paddle to add stiffness and reduce breakage. This layup is manufactured in a traditional, symmetrical paddle geometry for goalies who prefer a classic feel and performance. It wouldn’t be a Bauer stick without the latest and greatest technology. In the 9000, the designers have included a Carbon Triaxial Braid carbon weave to reinforce the blade, again adding stiffness and reducing breakage in the high impact areas. CCM Premier R1.5 Junior Goalie Leg Pads. The CCM Premier R1.5 leg pads are designed to produce powerful rebounds that allow the goaltender to reset and move into position for a potential second save, engineered to give the goaltender optimal weight balance when in the butterfly, reverse VH and recovery movements. The leg pads achieve this due to the extremely rigid internal foams that give excellent re-distribution of energy.
