The CCM Jetspeed FT390 skates offer elite-level features and performance for the elite-level player. The FT390 is packed with almost all the same innovation and technology found in the FT1, the main difference being a two-piece construction for players who appreciate a traditional boot. SpeedBlade Hyper-Glide runners will help players reach peak speeds faster, thanks to the polished steel that reduces drag. The SpeedBlade holder is attached to a SuperSkin Composite vented outsole. The lightweight carbon composite material creates a stiff base of support for enhanced energy transfer in each stride with reduced torquing. The bottom vent allows moisture and sweat to escape, helping players’ feet stay cool and dry during the game and reduce drying time afterward. The quarter package on the FT390 is CCM’s RocketFrame Composite material with SpeedCore III technology. The lightweight RocketFrame shell provides stiffness and rigidity through all parts of the boot for maximum support and energy transfer. Thermoformable, the boot has an anatomical shape right out of the box. It will be comfortable right away, and provides a custom fit after the baking process. In tandem with the RocketFrame shell, the SpeedCore III gives players premium stiffness for explosive strides. The FT390 comes with a Tri-Tech 7mm, two-piece felt tongue with injected, high-density PE center foam reinforcements. The triple-layered construction in this pro-level tongue promises elite-level protection and comfort. The injected foams are thermoformable for a custom fit after baking. The embossed lace-bite saddle helps secure the laces in place, prevent slippage, and reduce lace bite. The liner is CCM’s Total-Dri Pro model with DuraZone abrasion patches. CCM’s premier liner, the Total-Dri Pro does a great job wicking any unvented moisture from inside the boot. The DuraZone patches at the top of the quarter package will help extend liner life for players who position their shin guards under the tongue. Comfort Foam padding at the top of the quarter package will also help alleviate high-ankle abrasions, a common problem in stiff, high-end boots. Multi-density memory foam ankle pads provide premium interior comfort and help lock in the heel for improved stability. The CCM Jetspeed FT380 ice hockey skate offers some elite-level features at a performance-level price point. The skate’s interior and overall boot construction are significantly upgraded for class-leading performance. CCM uses its geometric SpeedRib design in the SpeedBlade 4.0 holder, which exploits the power of triangles for a stiffer, more stable performance. This means players experience less torquing and more power transferred through each stride. The SpeedBlade holder includes SpeedBlade stainless steel runners for excellent bite and durability. The FT370 outsole is a reinforced, injected, and vented model. This outsole is stiffer than outsoles at lower price points, for better energy transfer. The vent allows moisture to escape the boot, so it stays drier during the game and dries quickly afterwards. The quarter package on the Jetspeed 380 is CCM’s RocketFrame Composite model—the same as in last year’s top-of-the-line Jetspeed. This year, the boot features the SpeedCore II for elite-level stiffness—a very nice feature for a performance-level skate. CCM cores bake well and will give any shaped foot a customized fit and feel. The boot also features Smooth Contour Pro ankle wraps to alleviate high-ankle abrasions. The FT380 tongue is upgraded over the 370 tongue with thicker foam. The tongue includes additional thick foams down the center for a pro-styled feel. The embossed guard helps alleviate lace bite and protects the top of the foot from pucks and slashes. The FT380 interior has been upgraded with CCM’s premier Total-Dri liner to wick away unvented moisture, and offers superior abrasion protection. The liner’s DuraZone abrasion patches at the top of the boot help extend the liner’s life by reducing the wear that typically results from shin guards positioned beneath the tongue. Smooth Contour collar pads also help reduce high-ankle abrasions, and multi-density memory foam ankle pads comfortably lock the skater’s foot into the boot for better control. The FT380 features CCM’s Anatomical Response footbed with a thin layer of foam but an ample contact area between the foot and the skate. The fit profile of the FT380 is medium volume, like all Jetspeed skates. It has a slightly narrow forefoot and heel thanks to CCM’s well-known heel lock and a more tapered toe. While the instep is a standard medium volume, the overall fit is a little more snug, just right for players with in-between-sized feet. The CCM FT380 skate includes a variety of elite-level features, but still manages to retain a mid-range price point, making attributes normally reserved for premium skates available to a broad swath of performance-level skaters.
